🔬Hiring: Scientist – Enzymology & Biochemical Assay Development🔬

One of our Biotech customers is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Lead Discovery & Characterization team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a postdoc or early-career Ph.D. with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in enzymology, assay development, and small molecule drug discovery .

As a key contributor, you’ll work at the cutting edge of discovery science—designing, validating, and executing high-throughput biochemical and biophysical assays to drive lead identification and optimization efforts.

📍 South San Francisco, CA | 💼 Onsite | Contract Role

📅 Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

💲 Pay Rate: $42–$46/hr (W2)

🔍 What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and validate biochemical and biophysical assays (TR-FRET, FP, PCR, etc.)
• Optimize and automate assays for high-throughput screening (HTS)
• Conduct potency, kinetic, and mechanistic studies for hit validation and SAR
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance screening platforms
• Analyze large assay datasets using tools like GraphPad Prism
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to meet project goals
• Clearly communicate scientific findings through presentations and reports

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Ph.D. in pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology , or a related field
• 2–3 years of post-Ph.D. experience , ideally in industry or a strong postdoc
• Deep expertise in enzymology , ligand binding kinetics , and mechanism-of-action studies
• Strong background in assay development for small molecules, covalent inhibitors a plus
• Experience with microplate readers (e.g., PerkinElmer Envision ) and liquid handling systems
• Data-savvy with excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills

1. Expertise in developing & implementing technologies to improve assay performance
2. Proficiency with functional activity-based assays (e.g., TR-FRET, FP, PCR)
3. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset
