Join a top-tier, multibillion-dollar food and beverage manufacturer known for its household-name products and unwavering commitment to quality. We’re seeking a dynamic, hands-on Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager to lead a large, high-performing team at a flagship production facility in Modesto, California .

As a senior member of the plant leadership team, you’ll oversee all aspects of Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, and Quality Assurance . This role is ideal for a proven leader with deep experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities

  • Quality & Compliance Oversight
    Ensure full compliance with internal quality programs, FDA, CFIA, FSMA, and customer-specific requirements.

  • Audit & Certification Leadership
    Lead SQF, HACCP, and other GFSI programs. Serve as primary liaison during regulatory and third-party audits.

  • Team Leadership & Development
    Lead a robust team of 5 salaried supervisors and 50–80 quality technicians. Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Training & Onboarding
    Develop and implement training programs on GMPs, food safety, and quality standards for new hires and annual refreshers.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Partner with Production, Maintenance, R&D, and Sales to resolve issues, support launches, and drive customer satisfaction.

  • Continuous Improvement
    Own the FS&Q pillar of the plant’s CI system. Track and improve KPIs such as complaint reduction, audit scores, and product quality.

  • Supplier Quality Management
    Work with Corporate QA to address vendor issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Sanitation & Environmental Monitoring
    Oversee programs for sanitation, pest control, and microbial surveillance to maintain a safe, compliant facility.

  • SOPs & Budget Management
    Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure the QA department operates within budget.

What We’re Looking For – Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing large QA teams.

  • Expertise in HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, SQF, allergens, microbiology, and root cause analysis.

  • Experience in large-scale, 24/7 manufacturing environments.

  • Strong grasp of continuous improvement principles and tools.
