Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Accounts Payable and Procurement to join their team.

This is a full-time position based in New York City with a hybrid schedule, requiring four days per week in the Manhattan office. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the non-profit sector is required . If you meet this qualification, we encourage you to apply.

This position will play a key role within the Finance team, overseeing and enhancing critical business functions within the accounting office. Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Accounting, this role manages the accounts payable process, handles relevant annual tax filings, oversees the corporate credit card program, and management of semi-monthly payroll along with the associated payroll benefits posting process to the general ledger. This position will work to improve business processes under their direction by utilizing technology and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 3 to manage the procure to pay (p to p) process, by ensuring proper business practices, quality improvement of current procedures and implementing policies and best practices
  • Ensure timely filing of annual tax reporting forms
  • Manage corporate credit cards expense management system, including implementing new policies and procedures to reduce risk and improve the compliance, efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate card program
  • Oversee semi-monthly payroll and associated payroll benefits entries to the general ledger and partner with HR/Payroll department. Help ensure that payroll processes are as automated and effective as possible by using technology and reducing manual interventions.
  • Help with the month-end, quarterly and year-end closing processes
  • Help prepare schedules and analysis for the annual financial audit

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar discipline
  • 7 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 4 years in the nonprofit sector
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience communicating and explaining complex financial information
  • Experience manipulating, organizing, and presenting large amounts of data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience with non-profit enterprise software, such as SAGE Intacct, Expensify, Workday, Financial Edge, or similar required

Special Considerations:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $96,647.00 - $120,809.00 annually.

Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
