Job Description

We are hiring for someone to provide support, intervention, and coaching around behavior management strategies in three of our afterschool sites and three summer day camps. This person will work with staff to ensure that all kids are successful in our licensed childcare programs, evaluate children who struggle to effectively participate, and design and implement plans for their success. This individual should have familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and crisis plans, be comfortable meeting with school personnel and parents, and have the ability to coach staff. This position will also provide general support in licensed childcare, which may include recruiting and hiring staff, supporting licensing requirements, and leading staff trainings.

Note: this is a full-time, year-round job.

PAY/WAGES  The pay rate is between $47,640-$55,640 based on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Serve as in-house resource on child behavior management and well-being.
  • Evaluate children who struggle to effectively participate in EJRP programs.
  • Develop behavior management plans and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement observation, evaluation, and behavior-tracking systems.
  • Facilitate training opportunities for coordinators and staff on behavior management.
  • Ensure consistency in behavior supports across various settings – after school, vacation camp, and summer camps.
  • Routinely communicate with families around important, relevant information.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and oversee behavior support staff.
  • Advise on budgeting needs specific to behavioral interventions and supports.
  • Research and apply for grants to support the needs of all students.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Educational Requirements: Minimum Bachelor's degree in fields such as Elementary/Special Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or related areas.
  • Experience: At least three years of experience in youth service program management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Master’s degree or significant experience as a Behavioral Interventionist or in a student behavior support role, particularly in afterschool or summer camp settings.
  • Skills: Basic math skills, Microsoft Office experience, knowledge of RecTrac or similar software, ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and develop interventions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, and CPI/TCI or related crisis intervention training. Eligibility for Northern Lights Instructor certification.
  • Driver's License: Valid Vermont driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Physical and Travel Requirements: Ability to handle moderate physical demands, including lifting up to 100 pounds, and regular travel to afterschool and summer camp sites.
